Erg-a-thon Fundraiser: September 22nd and October 27th

The Friends of Brookline Rowing will hold the 10th annual Stuff-a-thon and Erg-a-thon fundraiser on Sunday, September 22nd from 1-3pm and Sunday, October 27th from 1:00-3:30 pm.  These are mandatory events for all spring season team members.  Please make sure that you save these important dates.

What is Stuff-a-thon & Erg-a-thon:

At the Stuff-a-thon (Sept. 22nd), athletes write letters requesting pledges.  All athletes should bring a list of names and mailing addresses for at least 12 family, friends and neighbors likely to make a donation to Brookline Rowing.  To save time, the athletes may bring their own return address labels and pre-printed mailing address labels for their contacts. We will be serving a light afternoon snack for the hungry letter writers.

At the Erg-a-thon(Oct 27th), all athletes turn in the donations they have received, and earn their pledges by rowing on ergs set up in front of the Devotion School. We will also have the tents set up on the day and encourage families to join us and bring pot luck items to share.

Volunteers Opportunities:

Volunteers are needed to help prepare the letter writing packets prior to the Stuff-a-thon, on the day of both the Stuff-a-thon and Erg-a-thon to help organize the athletes, and following the events to help with the mailings.  A sign up link will be sent out for the “day of” volunteers needed for the Stuff-a-thon and Erg-a-thon but please let me know if you might have some time available to help with the tasks before and after both days.

Locations for the Stuff-a-thon and Erg-a-thon:

The Friends are very grateful to the Brookline Teen Center for generously hosting the Stuff-a-thon.  The Erg-a-thon will take place on the Devotion School’s front lawn.

The Erg-a-thon is our largest fundraiser, helping us to pay for coaches’ salaries and new equipment.  Brookline Rowing is made possible by the Friends’ fundraising, which pays for the vast majority of the program’s costs.  As always, donations from parents are very welcome.
